Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has changed his view for India cricket after bursting India for not playing any bilateral series with Pakistan. During an interview with FOX Sports Asia, Afridi quipped MS Dhoni as the coolest captain in the whole world.
When asked about his favourite Indian cricketer, Afridi mentioned Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
On being asked to choose between Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, Afridi picked Lara and said that his favourite wicket is the one he took of Lara in Australia.
Afridi also mentioned that if he would not be a cricketer, he would be an army man.
Afridi also named mercurial batsman Umar Akmal as the ‘loudest’ player and the best dancer in the Pakistan team. He mentioned Wasim Akram as the top leader of the side.
Following the heated cross border relations between two countries, Afridi created massive controversy when he commented on the issue of Kashmir in India, where he alleges there is an “appalling and worrisome situation” and urges UN intervention.
“appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?.” he wrote.
He was roasted by several Indian cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar for his words.
