The much hyped test series between India and Australia is slated to start from 6th December in Adelaide. Many cricket experts donned the prediction hat and predicted in the favour of India saying that Australia looks more than ordinary without the services of David Warner and Steve Smith who are facing a one year ban following the infamous sandpaper gate controversy.
Shane Watson predicts the winner of the series
Meanwhile former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has predicted the winner of the series. The 37-years-old said that Australia will have a massive home ground advantage while this will be India’s best chance to beat Australia in Australia.
“There is a massive home ground advantage for Australia. They haven’t lost too many times in the history in Australia. So while there is no doubt this is India’s best chance to win in Australia, it’s still incredibly challenging to be able to win away,” Watson was quoted as saying in India Today.
Despite missing the services of Steve Smith and David Warner, Watson feels Australia boast of a solid batting line-up and they still have what is takes to trouble the Indian bowlers. The Ipswich born opined that it will be a battle between Indian batsmen and Australian bowlers with Virat Kohli playing a huge role for India.
“There is no doubt it’s a big hole to fill with Smith and Warner missing but there is no doubt that we still have the quality to be able to fill those runs that we need to win. Our bowling attack is still very strong but so is India’s batting line up,” Watson added.
