Digitalsporty’s pick: Strongest team after IPL Auction 2018

Strongest team after IPL Auction 2018

After the recently concluded auctions, the fans have indulged in heated arguments to find Strongest team after IPL Auction 2018. Every one has their own set of views and opinions, but in our opinion, Sunrisers Hyderabad are way ahead in the race.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is a well settled team who has done quite well in recent years. A settled captain and opening combination along with bowlers like Bhuvneshwar and Rashid make it even stronger. It also has the likes of Basil Thampi, who is a proven commodity in Indian domestic structure. They have been wiser in purchasing all the players in the auction. Purchasing Manish Pandey for whooping 11 crore, has a justifying reason as he is currently the fittest player in India leaving Virat Kohli behind in the yoyo test.

SRH has sticked to retain most of their 2017 team. They got Warner, Shikhar, Williamson, Bhuvneshwar, Rashid, Deepak Hooda, Nabi, S Kaul, Bipul Sharma and Ricky Bhui. SRH have back up player for almost every position, which will not leave any concern for the team if any player is injured.

Opening batsman: The combination of David-Dhawan is a reputed and proven combination. They are one of the best opening pair amongst the eight teams from the last few seasons. They have powered SRH to debut IPL title in 2016 and can again be a force to reckon with. Hyderabad’s opener Tanmay Agarwal who is amongst the runs in the domestics, is also an option for the opening slot.

Middle Order Batsmen: SRH went all out to acquire Manish Pandey for 11 crore rupees alongside Kane Williamson for building a strong middle order, that consists of all the fire power. Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson are perfect for middle order role. They both can also play controlled innings, if the team has lost early wickets in clusters.

Their uncapped lot include Ricky Bhui the young batsmen from Andhra who played some crucial innings in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. Kerala’s captain Sachin Baby, who can prove handy with his all-round abilities.

Lower Middle Order: This was an area where SRH struggled to find some power hitters. But they have got their basics covered after the auctions. They picked Afghanistan’s T20 specialist, Mohammad Nabi. And Bangladesh’s Shakib-Ul-Hasan who can eeke out crucial runs in the death overs.

Yusuf Pathan, Carlos Brathwaite and Deepak Hooda are all useful additions. They can hit the ball a long way and also come handy with their bowling abilities. Hyderabad’s experienced all-rounder Mehdi Hasan, may also bring his all round abilities to the game.

Wicket Keeper: While Wriddhiman Saha might not be the best batsman, his keeping skills are second to best (MSD). SRH is a bowling dependent team, and having a good keeper will help. They have a reserve in Sreevats Goswami, who is also from Bengal.

Spinners: Rashid Khan has proved his worth in the T20 leagues around the world. Bipul Sharma also impressed in the last season with his slow left arm orthodox bowling.

Fast Bowlers: SRH has an army of fast bowlers in their disposal. Lead by India’s best, Bhuvaneswar Kumar, they have experienced Sandeep Sharma and Siddharth Kaul to partner him.

They have many young upcoming Indian pacers like Thampi, Natarajan and Khaleel Ahmed who can surprise the opposition. Chris Jordan and Billy Stanlake are overseas options who are best when it comes to variation and deceiving the batsmen.

In our views Sunrisers Hyderabad are the strongest team after IPL Auction 2018. VVS Laxman and Tom Moody’s masterpiece have yet again did wonders for the Hyderabad based franchise.
