The much hyped test series between India and Australia is slated to start from 6th December in Adelaide. Many cricket experts donned the prediction hat and predicted in the favour of India saying that Australia looks more than ordinary without the services of David Warner and Steve Smith who are facing a one year ban following the infamous sandpaper gate controversy.
Meanwhile, cricket experts have now started picking their playing XI for both the teams. Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar also joined the huddle and picked his India playing XI for Adelaide test.
No Rohit Sharma in Gavaskar’s playing XI
The former captain picked promising cricketer Prithvi Shaw and Murali Vijay to open the innings for India.
Shaw proved his worth in the home series against Windies while Murali Vijay scored ton of runs in English county after getting dropped for the last two tests against England.
Gavaskar picked Cheteshwar Pujara at number 3 and Virat Kohli at number 4, who seems to be the only two batsman to cement their place in the team.
Vice captain Ajinkya Rahane will take the all important number 5 slot followed by wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant at number 6.
Five bowlers in the team
Gavaskar picked two spinners to feature in the team. He didn’t pick all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and opted for Ravichandran Ashwin and chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
His pace attack will comprise of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Test specialist Ishant Sharma could not find his place in the team.
