India was thrashed by a low lying New Zealand in the fourth ODI in Hamilton by eight wickets with more than 35 overs left in their innings. Indian batters disappointed with the bat as they could just manage 92 runs and got bundled out in just 30.5 overs.

Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav and Ambati Rayudu failed to put up a batting display in absence of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Debutant Shubman Gill was also not amongst the runs which completely exposed the Indian batting line-up in the absence of two big guns.

Indian bowlers tried their level best to defend a paltry target but the score wasn’t enough to let them give a knockout punch to the black caps.

Sunil Gavaskar suggests one change in the team

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has came forward and suggested that the men in blue should bring back MS Dhoni in place of Dinesh Karthik for the last ODI. Dhoni was sidelined from the 3rd and 4th ODI following a hamstring injury.

“My feeling is that they will have Dhoni come in place of Karthik. This is probably the one change that I can foresee. About the other changes, it will totally depend on the kind of pitch that they see. I don’t see too much changes coming up. Shubman will certainly get another opportunity,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

Dhoni was the man of the series in the Australia ODI series and his good run of form is certainly happening news for Indian cricket as the build to the upcoming world cup continues.
