Sushil Kumar dedicates his gold medal to the kids who passed in Himachal Pradesh bus accident

After bagging gold in the men’s freestyle 74kg category of the ongoing Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar said that the medal doesn’t only belong to him, but the entire team and coaches who had put in efforts in his preparation. Sushil bagged his third consecutive gold medal by defeating Johannes Botha in the finals by a clinical margin of 10-0 to force a win by technical superiority. He had earlier won gold in 2010 Delhi CWG and 2014 Glasgow CWG in 74 kg category.

Speaking to the reporters following the victory, an ecstatic Sushil thanked his coaches and entire family for the support they had shown in him.

“This medal doesn’t only belong to me, but the entire team who had put in efforts in preparing him. I want to thank my coaches for giving me proper training which is why I have managed to perform well here. I also want to thank my family and friends. I just want everyone’s blessings so that I can once again prepare myself well and clinch a medal for the country in the next edition,” he said.

He also took to twitter and wrote,” Proud moment. With love & blessings of fellow Indians I have Won Gold for 3rd time in #CommonwealthGames2018 .This award is a tribute to my parents, my guru Satpal Ji & @yogrishiramdev ji(Ramdev) and kids who passed away in #HimachalPradesh

India are currently standing at the third spot with 29 medals, including 14 gold, six silver and nine bronze medals in the Games
