Mohammed Shami (born 3 September 1990) is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team, Delhi Daredevils in IPL and Bengal in domestic cricketer. He is a regular member in Indian test team.



He made his ODI debut against Pakistan in January 2013 where he bowled a record four maiden overs, which is a record at debut.

He made his test debut against West Indies in November 2013 and picked a five wicket haul.

Shami is originally from Sahaspur village in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. Shami missed out on getting picked for the Uttar Pradesh Under-19 team. Later his coach Badruddin sent him to Kolkata in 2005, where he started playing for the Dalhousie Athletic Club.

Debabrata Das, a former assistant secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal recognized Shami’s talent and sent him to Mohun Bagan club in order to get selected got Bengal. He was eventually picked in Bengal Ranji team in 2010.
