India pipped world champions West Indies in the 2nd T20 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana International stadium’s debut match to seal the series 2-0. After a much needed Diwali break both the teams will square off in the 3rd T20 in Chennai.
Rohit Sharma is turning out to be a nightmare for the Windies as he thrashed the visitors in all corners of the ground in 2nd T20, where he also completed his 4th T20 hundred. Meanwhile, BCCI rested Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav for the last T20, bringing back Punjab pacer Siddharth Kaul.
Chances for three players
Having allready sealed the T20 series, Indian team management will look to test the bench strength and give opportunity to the upcoming talents.
Washington Sundar who was out of the team since the Ireland T20 series may be given a chance to be in the playing XI alongside Shahbaz Nadeem who has managed to draw the attention of everyone courtesy of his impressive performances for Jharkhand in domestic cricket.
Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer may also be given a chance following his impressive run in the recently concluded Deodhar trophy.
“They have defeated West Indies in Test, ODI and T20 series. So they are enjoying a well-deserved Diwali break. They will be here only on Saturday,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by Times of India.
