1- Abdul Kardar- Born in Lahore(1925)
Playing for undivided India as Abdul Hafeez, he made his debut against England in 1946. Regarded as an elegant batsman, Kardar played three tests for India where he failed to make a mark.
Post the Independence, he moved to Pakistan and later went onto become the first cricketer to captain Pakistan cricket team in 1952. He made his debut for Pakistan against his former team- India, where all the three India born players were present who later went onto compete for Pakistan. While Aamir Elahi and Kardar played for Pakistan, Gul Mohammed was part of India’s playing XI.
In 23 matches where he captained Pakistan, Kardar went onto lead his team to victory against all the test playing nation of that era(leaving South Africa who were in Apartheid period). Kardar is regarded as one of the greats to ever don the Pakistan jersey and is considered a father figure in Pakistan cricket.
