The 5 times world champion will be probably making her last appearance for India at the Commonwealth games, but she is the strongest contender to win a gold. Women’s boxing was included in the games for the first time in 2014, where she could not qualify for the event following a loss to Pinki Jangra during trials. Mary is not a top ranked boxer in the world but will stand as a favorite in the 45-48 category at the CWG. She has stitched some memorable comebacks in her career and no wonder why she is called “Magnificent Mary“.
An Olympic bronze, five world titles, five-time Asian champion, two times Asian Games medalist.
