Three records of MS Dhoni which may never be broken

Thala MS Dhoni turned 40-year-old today and netizens and other famous celebrities are making sure that they don’t miss out on wishing the legendary cricketer who changed Indian cricket forever. Dhoni is regarded as one of the cleanest strikers of the cricket ball and one of the best finishers this world has ever seen. In a career spanning over 15 years, the Ranchi lad has managed to achieve some of the amazing achievements that may be tough to beat in the future. Here’s a look at them-

3-Most successful captain record

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is counted among the most successful captains in international cricket. Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three ICC trophies. Under his captaincy, India won the T20 World Cup in 2007, 2011 world cup and he also won 2013 champions trophy with a team who was going through transition period. He is the only captain to win three ICC trophies and it can be a tough nut to crack for any captain in the world.

2- Stumping record

Three records of MS Dhoni which may never be brokenTechnique is not everything and this can be learned by the keeping style of Dhoni. He was not a copy book style of keeper and his unorthodox style of keeping the wickets proved effective and beneficial for India. Mahi holds the record for most stumpings in international cricket. He has stumped players the most in international cricket with a record 192 times. According to ESPNcricinfo, he holds the record of stumping 38 times in Tests, 120 in ODIs and 34 in T20s.

Highest individual score by a wicket-keeper batsman

Dhoni has the highest individual score as a wicket-keeper batsman. He scored an unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka in Jaipur on 31 October 2005. During this he hit 15 fours and 10 sixes. Earlier, Australia’s legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist had scored 172 runs against Zimbabwe in 2004.

The record can only be broken if any wicket-keeper batsman bats at the top order but it looks impossible as of now and can go on to play 50 overs to reach to a score like that.
