The Tokyo Olympics will get underway with the grand opening ceremony on 23rd July, 2021. However, no telecast will be available on this day as it is dedicated to qualifications, practice and trial round. Indian athletes will also feature on the day and here’s the full schedule for Indian athletes on day 1 of Tokyo Olympics 2020 (23 July 2021)
Archery
Yumenoshima ranking field will host the archery event and Indian archers will hope that the windy conditions don’t spoil their show like the 2012 London Olympics archery event which was played on the Lord’s cricket ground.
Women’s individual ranking round– Deepika Kumari from 5:30 AM
Men’s individual ranking round- Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav and Tarundeep Rai from 9:30 AM
Equestrian
This is the event where the most oldest Olympian of Tokyo 2020 will be featured and 23rd July will be the 1st horse inspection day featuring Fouaad Mirza from equestrian park.
Dressage 1st horse inspection– Fouaad Mirza from 5:30 AM
Dressage 1st horse inspection means the three members of the Ground Jury take a first look at all of the horses in the competition. The horses are trotted up in front of them and with the help of the Veterinary Delegate, as assessment is make as to whether each one is fit to take part.
Shooting
India will field their biggest shooting contingent ever in this Olympics and 23rd July will mark the date of pre-event training.
