MS Dhoni has been the greatest captain and servant of Indian cricket, having all the ICC trophies in his cabinet. While being a serious competitor on the ground, his remarks may sound funny and hilarious for the fans which also makes him a great entertainer from behind the wicket. A bowler has the best companion when he has Dhoni keeping the wickets, who has suggestions for every bowler but in his own ways. 1- In a test match, Sreesanth was constantly moving form his position, when Dhoni said this
“Oye Sree udhar girlfriend nahi hai, idhar aa ja thoda” (Hey Sree, your girlfriend isn’t there. Come ahead a bit)
2- In a test match, when Ravindra Jadeja was bowling on the off when a furious Dhoni said this
“Ye ghoomega toh Pujara ko isiliye idhar rakha hai, voh udhar taali bajaane ke liye nahi hai” (If the ball turns, I’ve kept Pujara in the slips for catching; he’s not standing there just to clap).
3- In another occasion, it was Dhoni-Jadeja act that seems way too hilarious
“Vijay apna hi fielder hai use catch lene ke liye hi aage rakha hai, off mein bowl fenk.” (Vijay is in our team; he’s in close in position to take a catch, keep bowling on the off-stump).
4- Dhoni-IAN Bell act
In 2008, Dhoni said to Pragyan Ojha “Ghanti baja de iski” (Ring this bell). This is related to English batsman IAN Bell, urging his bowler to take his wicket.
5- When he wanted Ravindra Jadeja to bowl slow deliveries
“Abe thoda dheere khila. Ek chakka khake dikha”
6- The Kauwa (Crow) scene
Dhoni to Ashwin- “Sahi jaa raha hai, Kauwa Uda!”
(“Going good, Make the crow fly!”. He meant, bowl a flighted delivery.)
“Badhiya, Badhiya! Kauwe ko aur udne de zara.”
(“Great going ! Let the crow fly even higher!”
Ashwin followed the instruction of his captain and flighted the ball slowly which fetched the wicket and they had the last laugh.
