The sturdy Jamaican pacer is best known to march and salute to the pavilion followed by opening his arms to the heavens. The 29-year-old picked 12 wickets in 9 matches for the West Indies and finished as the leading run scorer for his country.
Cottrell revealed the reason behind his salute profession and said that he is an army officer by profession and the salute is just to show the respect to Jamaican defence force.
