1. Rohan Bopanna Top Indian tennis players
Bopanna tops the list of India’s top players in 2017. The big serving doubles specialist from Bangalore won French open with her Canadian partner Gariela Dabrowski. The Indo-Canadian pair crunched German-Columbian pair of Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Robert Farah 2-6, 6-2, 12-10 in a thrilling final of Mixed doubles. With this, Rohan became the 4th Indian to win the Grand slam trophy. He reached the quarter final of Wimbledon with the same partner in mixed doubles.
Rohan had a mixed run at Davis cup. He maintained a record of 1 win and 1 loss in 2017. Bopanna played alonside N. Sriram Balaji and defeated Uzbek pair of Farrukh Dustov and Sanjar Fayziev 6-2 6-4 6-1 in Davis cup tie. He partnered with Purav Raja but lost to Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil 5-7 5-7 7-5 3-6 in Davis cup tie against Canada.
Rohan Bopanna currently ranks 37 in men doubles and will partner with Divij Sharan for 2019 pro season.
