Rain gods finally blessed the cricket lovers on second day of the Lords test match as Joe Root won the toss and elected to field first against India who brought Kuldeep Yadav and Cheteshwar Pujara in place of Umesh Yadav and Shikhar Dhawan respectively. Jimmy Anderson started the proceedings for England in an overcast conditions which was always going to be a huge benefit potion for any team. Jimmy Anderson bowled some outswingers and improved his line on the fifth bowl which was on stump line and opened Murali Vijay completely as the wickets were shattered by an unplayable ball.
Kl Rahul(8) managed two boundaries and looked in good touch but James Anderson again got the better of him. Rahul’s trigger movement was upfront that forced him to poke at the delivery, ending up edging it past to the keeper.
In the process Anderson picked his 96th wicket at Lords and became the most successful bowler at the venue.
Twitter was certainly not happy with two early breakthroughs. Here is how they reacted.
Reactions after Murali Vijay was dismissed
Absolutely here for Murali Vijay trying to flair one through midwicket in the first over of a Test when stuck in under cloud cover ?? #EngvInd

Whilst Murali Vijay will be frustrated with his execution, the flick shot has been a key part of his Test batting. Before this game, he averaged 110.50 with the shot – today was not a good example, but he typically plays the shot well. #ENGvIND

Not sure how the commentators are criticising Murali Vijay for getting clean bowled by James Anderson.
No matter what technique you have, every batsman in the world is getting out to that delivery.
It’s a contender for GOAT delivery. #ENGvIND

Reactions after KL Rahul was dismissed
Who are we?
Indian fans.
Who do we want in the Test side?
KL Rahul.
Why?
Because he plays well in the IPL.#ENGvIND

Dear KL Rahul Blind supporters ,
Do u still have something to say about KL Rahul (who averages 7+ outside sub Continent in Tests this year) ?
Scoring runs in IPL is not good enough to play Test CRICKET. #ENGvIND

In the bid to be an all format player, KL Rahul seems to have messed up his red-ball game. The temperament and solidity that Dale Steyn once raved about, is replaced with only flair these days#ENGvIND

India is currently 11/2 with captain Virat Kohli(1) and Cheteshwar Pujara(1) at the crease.
