World was in a state of mourning after basketball legend and former NBA star Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash alongside his daughter in Calabasas of South California on Sunday. The 41-year-old was travelling in his private choper over Calabasas when fire break out and brought down the heli.
Bryan’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Maria Onore was also killed in the crash. In total, nine people died in the crash including the pilot, confirmed Alex Villanueva, the Los Angeles County sheriff, during a news conference.
It was not clear if the chopper was overloaded with extra passengers. It is learned that Bryan was Mamba Sports Academy bound to coach his daughter as the academy was hosting a tournament for upcoming and young talent on Sunday.
Other people’s killed in the crash were John Altobelli, a longtime baseball coach at Orange Coast College, a junior college in Costa Mesa. Calif., as well as Altobelli’s wife, Keri, and daughter Alyssa, university officials said.
Bryant has spent 20 overs of his life, playing for NBA giants Los Angeles Lakers and won 5 championships and two Olympic gold medals for United States of America. He retired from the sports in 2016.

Kobe Bryant, despite being one of the truly great basketball players of all time, was just getting started in life. He loved his family so much, and had such strong passion for the future. The loss of his beautiful daughter, Gianna, makes this moment even more devastating….

Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.
