The arch-rivals India and Pakistan are ready to face each other on the cricket field yet again. This time it will be the semi-final of the under-19 World Cup in South Africa. Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the Super League quarter-final match and with this win, they are now set to lock horns with India, who defeated Australia in the quarter finals.
When will India-Pakistan clash?
On 4 February, defending champions India will clash against Pakistan for a place in world cup final. On Friday, Afghanistan were reduced to 189 runs by batting first. In response, the Pakistani team achieved the target of 190 runs by losing four wickets with 53 balls remaining.
The second semi-final will be played between New Zealand and Bangladesh on 6 February while the final of the Under-19 World Cup will be held on 9 February. The four-time champions- Indian team has been invincible in this World Cup so far. They beat Sri Lanka by 90 runs in the first match group stage match followed by a dominant win over Japan by 10 wickets in the second match and a 44 runs victory over New Zealand in the third match and last group stage match.
They were up against a strong Australia in the quarter finals and despite putting a low total on the board, Indian bowlers were right on the money as they bowled out Australia and won the game by 74 runs to advance to the last four of the tournament.
On the other hand, Pakistan defeated teams like Scotland, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Their game against Bangladesh was washed off due to rain.
What to expect from the match
Pakistan surely possess the best bowling attack in the tournament and India boasts of some impressive young batters, who can change the complexion of the game on their very own. It will be a battle of Indian batters versus the Pakistani bowlers.
