Saina Nehwal pulls out of US premier badminton event.
After a dissapointing Canada Open the Indian shuttlers have moved on to USA to complete in US Open Grand prix gold event starting from Wednesday. Leading the spearhead will be HS Prannoy who is on a high after defeating some big names like Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia this year and will look to put his best foot forward in the US GPG .
The commonwealth games champion , Parupalli Kashyap will also be in the fray , who has not impressed much after returning back from his injury . He will need some good form to bag something out of this America’s premier badminton event .
Some lesser known facts about PV Sindhu
Sameer Verma the 22 year old from Dhar is also making a comeback in the tournament , he has won the Syed Modi Grand Prix gold earlier this year in Lucknow and will look to continue the same story here in the US GPG .

In the women’s singles, Saina Nehwal has allready pulled out giving the lead to national champion Rituparna Das and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde .

- Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli will face off against American Maya Chen.
- Sai Uttejitha Rao Chuka will take on Netherland’s Gayle Mahulette.
India’s top mixed doubles pairing of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N. Sikki Reddy have won the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold in Lucknow earlier this year and will look to triumph in the US GPG when they face off against Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh of England . Other pairing of (Kona Tarun , Meghana Jakkampudi) and (Manu Attri , K. Maneesha) will also lead the Indian challenge.
In men’s doubles , the 3rd seed pair of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy will take on top Canadian pair of Jason Anthony Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura . Other Indians to compete are Francis Alwin and Kona Tarun , the young and promising pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will also put their best foot forward.
