AB De Villiers pull off a spider-man catch against Sunrisers Hyderabad to dismiss the hard-hitting batsman Alex Hales and again proved that he is not an ordinary human. The South African legend is making a habit of doing something extra-ordinary every time he steps on to the cricket field.
Sunrisers were off to a steady start, chasing a mammoth target of 219, when their opener Alex Hales took the attack to Moeen Ali in the 8th over. He smashed a ball that seems to be travelling outside the boundary rope but a “Superman” in Ab De Villiers was on the way as he pulled off a ripper to dismiss Hales.
The whole stadium was in “awe” with the effort and captain Virat Kohli was also brimming with joy. He later took to twitter and compared De Villiers to a Marvel superhero, saying he saw “SpiderMan live today.

De Villiers also played a blisterring innings of 69 runs in just 39 balls that helped RCB post a total of 218 at the end of the regulation 20 overs. SRH gave a tough fight but despite all the efforts from their skipper Kane Williamson (81 off 42 balls) and Manish Pandey (62 off 38 balls), they ended up on the loosing side by 14 runs.
With this win RCB has ensured themselves a chance to qualify for the play-offs. If they manage to win their last encounter against RR at Jaipur, all the things will come down to their net run rate.
“I made it look better than it was,” De Villiers said after being adjudged man-of-the-match.
“I got in a bad position. The ball had a little bit curve on it. The minute I took the jump, I realised it was a little bit outside of my body. Luckily it stuck.”
