The celebration of victory on the cricket field suddenly turned into a celebration of love, after Australian cricketer Amanda Jade-Wellington was clean bowled by his boyfriend, who proposed her infront of the team mates and hundreds of cheering fans. On Saturday, everyone witnessed a spectacular sight in the second match of the Women’s Big Bash League played in Adelaide, Australia.
In the match played between the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades, the Adelaide team won by six wickets. After the match, Adelaide women cricketers started celebrating the victory, but suddenly everyone was surprised when Amanda’s boyfriend- Tayler McKechnie proposed her for marriage.
McKechnie, 23, proposed using a Pokemon card with “Will you marry me?” written on it, with the ring sitting in a ‘poke ball’.
Wellington, 22, didn’t think twice and said a “yes”.
“When I saw him on the field, I just thought: ‘Get off, we’re trying to take a team photo’. I had no idea what was really happening, but I’m so happy, I’m still shaking,” she was quoted as saying by news.com.au.
