India’s 2011 and 2007 World T20 hero- Yuvraj Singh was certainly back into the groove in the recently concluded DY Patil T20 cup in Mumbai. The 37-years-old smacked 80 off just 57 balls playing for Air India in the DY Patil T20 Cup tournament in Mumbai where he showed the glimpses of veteran Yuvi.
Yuvraj Singh last featured in a T20 International against England on 1 February 2017 and since then the Chandigarh born lad has failed to get the attention of the selectors courtesy of his poor run of form. He was picked in the third round of IPL auction 2019 after he failed to get a bidder in starting two rounds which almost ousted him from IPL picture. However, Mumbai Indians successfully got his services for a sum of 1 crore rupees.
Yuvraj played for his home franchise Kings XI Punjab in the last season but could just manage 65 runs in 8 matches that meant that the franchise owners released him ahead of the 12th season. He failed to put up a magical show in the ongoing Ranji trophy playing for Punjab but the southpaw has again showed some signs of vintage touch with the bat in a T20 tournament.
Yuvraj shines with the bat again
The sixer king recently featured for Air India in a game against Maldives in Male. Known for his clinical strike, Yuvraj impressed his fans with a reverse sweep that fetched him a boundary. Its worth mentioning that a shot like reverse sweep can be played by a batsman in tremendous form and with sheer focus. A small error can get him out but a batsman in impressive form will not hesitate to execute this unorthodox shot.

It will be interesting to see if his great run of form continues in the upcoming Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians which can draft him into the Indian team for the world cup as a “x” factor.
