Many fans prayed for the CSK to loss the trophy so Dhoni doesn’t have a reason to leave on a high and don’t come back next year to ply his trade for CSK. However, CSK proved too good for KKR as they won their fourth IPL title by winning the finals by 27 runs in some style. Harsha Bhogle was the post match presenter and he asked the question of retirement to the Ranchi lad and he puzzled everyone with his answer.
“It depends on BCCI with two new teams coming in,” Dhoni said in the post match presentation.
Harsha stopped him and said, no MS, it’s between you and CSK. Dhoni then says “Well it’s not about me playing for CSK, it’s about what is best for CSK. The core group that can carry the team for 10 years. Now we need to see what is best.
Harsha Bhogle then tells the legacy he has left behind with CSK to which Dhoni cheekily replied “Well, I still haven’t left behind (smiles).”
Some days ago, Dhoni revealed that he wants to get back to Chennai and play infront of the fans and retire. The statement made during the post match presentation of the IPL final does prove that Dhoni is in no hurry to retire and he is all set to be retained by the CSK management and lead the side again in 2022 season.

Talking about the team’s performance, Dhoni said that the team had enough match winners and that he used several players in different ways in this year’s IPL.
“People who were in form they ensured they were scoring throughout the tournament and others were chipping in. Every final is special. Yes we are most consistent team looking at the stats but we have also lost finals. Not letting the opposition in is something we consciously wanted to improve,” he said.
