South Africa’s premier T20 league- Mzansi Super League (MSL) is in full flow at the moment. The league is packed with some impressive batting and bowling performances but a sense of sportsmanship was also seen, which would hardly have been seen on cricket ground before. In the match played between Paarl Rocks and Nelson Mandela Bay Giants on Sunday, Isuru Udana missed an easy runout chance, but is being praised for it. The Sri Lankan bowler deliberately missed the opportunity to run out an injured batsman at the non-striker end.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants team were batting in the 19th over, Heino Kuhn and Marco Marais were present at the crease to chase Paarl Rocks’ target and the team needed 24 runs off 8 balls. Kuhn wanted to play a big shot, but the ball hit non striker batsman Marais.

Marais fell to the ground during this time and the ball went to the bowler Isuru Udana. He had an excellent chance to run out a struggling Marais but he did not attempt at it and went to his mark for the next delivery. He gave chance to the batsman to. Marais also hit a six off the third ball of the last over but despite this, the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants lost by 12 runs.

“Spirit of cricket Raise your hand for more moments like this! Always!” MSL tweeted.
