Video: Virat Kohli asked the crowd to cheer for Mohammed Shami, what happens next is interesting

The Indian bowlers were relentless after Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first at Indore’s Holkar stadium on Thursday. The pitch didn’t have much for the bowlers but the Indian pace trio made sure that they wreck havoc on the visitors.

The bowling performance of Indian bowlers has tightened their grip on the first day of first test. The Indian bowlers restricted the Bangladeshi batters to 150 runs courtesy brilliant three wicket haul by Mohammed Shami, well supported by R. Ashwin, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav.

Shami strikes back after crowd cheers for him

Bangladeshi veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim tried to bring his team back in the game, but a brilliant delivery from Mohammed Shami send him packing. Before Shami took the wicket of Mushfiqur and he was going for his runup, Virat Kohli encouraged the crowd to cheer for Shami. The audience cheered him loudly which did wonders and he claimed the wicket of dangerous looking Mushfiqur Rahim.

After Mushfiqur’s dismissal, he next dismissed Mehdi Hasan on the very next ball to be on a hat trick but unluckily for him, a 20 minute tea break halted his rhythm. After the tea, he missed on to become first ever Indian pacer to claim hat trick in ODI and test cricket. At the end of day’s play, India were 86/1 and are just 64 runs behind with 9 wickets in hand.
