Vijender Singh’s next opponent confirmed | Vijender’s next fight
India’s star boxer Vijender Singh is all set to defend his title. The Olympic medalist will keep his WBO Oriental and Asia pacific super middleweight title at stake. Lot was said about Singh’s next opponent but earlier in an event he confirmed the next fight being a big one.
The unbeaten streak of Vijender continued when he defeated China’s number one boxer, Julpikar Mamatiyali. And won WBO Oriental title from the Chinese making him a double title holder. This fight was held in Mumbai in August.
Amateur and Pro boxing differences
After three successful title fights of India’s knockout king Vijender Singh in Delhi and Mumbai, Vijender Singh Promotions and IOS Boxing Promotions is now moving to the Pink City of Jaipur. Vijender Singh’s next opponent will be Ghana’s Ernest Amuzu. He is the current African champion. The match will be held in Sawai Mansingh stadium,Jaipur.
Vijender who is currently 7th in the WBO rankings is all set to defend his WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental super middleweight title against African Champion Ernest Amuzu in the mega show named ‘Rajasthan Rumble
Vijender has 9 bouts until now with 7 of them being won by knockout and 2 by Unanimous Decision. He has played 40 rounds in his 9 fights of his professional career so far. In his last three title fights held in India, Vijender has won all three. 1 through knockout win and 2 unanimously
“I am really excited on having my tenth fight in India in the Pink City of Jaipur. I am training hard in the ring for the last two months and still have three weeks to go for my next fight, so looking forward to winning the third title fight in a row. I am sure it will be an exciting fight night for the people of Jaipur and I am confident that sporting fans will come out in large number to support me when I compete for my third title fight,” Vijender said.
West African Boxing Union Middleweight champion and Ghanaian middleweight champion Ernest Amuzu holds a record of 23 wins with 21 knockouts and 2 losses out of total 25 fights he has fought so far in his career. Amuzu has also been an amateur boxer who participated in the Commonwealth Games 2002, All Africa Games in 2004 and two African Championships in 2003 and 2005.
