Tamil Nadu batsman Dinesh Karthik took a stunning catch to dismiss dangerous looking Daryl Mitchell during the first T20 between India and New Zealand at less crowded Westpac stadium in capital city Wellington. Hardik Pandya got the wicket of Mitchell but all credit goes to Karthik for pulling off a stunner to push the hosts on backfoot after a blasting start upfront.
Hardik bowled the last ball of 14th over when Mitchell lofted the ball down the ground. The ball travelled quickly to Dinesh Karthik who hung onto the catch at the boundary line and brought his tremendous presence of mind into play to lob it back just before stepping past the boundary line. He was quick enough to come back and dive forward to complete the formalities.

Earlier in the match, India won the toss and choose to bowl first. The decision was proved wrong after the hosts posted 219 runs on the board.
