It was a six fest at Sharjah as Afghanistan’s rising star Hazratullah Zazai smashed six sixes in an over to achieve a rare feat. Playing for Kabul Zwanan, Zazai produced a 12-ball half-century against the Balkh Legends.

The 20-year-old has featured in 2 ODIs and 3 T20s for his national side.

Left-arm spinner Abdullah Mazari had to face all the heat as he conceded 37 runs in an over courtesy of a wide and six sixes by Hazratullah.

The Afghan batsman now joins the elite list of players like Sir Garfield Sobers, Ravi Shastri, Herschelle Gibbs, Yuvraj Singh, Alex Hales, Ravindra Jadeja and Misbah-ul-Haq who have earlier hit six sixes in an over in different formats of the game.

He also becomes the joint fastest half centurion in T20 format after he completed his half a ton in just 12 balls. The record is held by Yuvraj Singh and Chris Gayle. Hazratullah went onto score 67 runs from 17 balls.

A blisterring innings came in a losing cause

Balkh Legends scored 244/8 in 20 overs, thanks to the firepower of Chris Gayle who scored 80 runs off just 48 balls to take his team to a par score.

Hazratullah who was playing for Kabul Zwavan could just manage 223 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their quota of 20 overs to lose by 21 runs.
