Captain of India U-19 team in 2016 world cup and rising Indian batsman Ishan Kishan is certainly taking giant strides in pursuit to play at the highest level, especially when it comes to wicket-keeping. The 20-year-old from Patna is surely following the footsteps of his ideal MS Dhoni when it comes to keeping the wickets.
It happened in the final of Duleep trophy final between India Red and India Blue, where Kishan tried to imitate a MS Dhoni style of dismissing the batsman. However, he was unsuccessful in doing so but his efforts got all the appreciation on the social media.
The Scenario
India Red batsman Ricky Bhui played a ball bowled by India Blue spinner Mihir Hirwani to the extra cover and immediately rushed for a single. Anmolpreet Singh on the other end took off, responding to Bhui’s call. However, he fumbled at the start which created a run out opportunity.
The mid-off fielder collected the ball and throw it back to the wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan, who ran two steps forward and wrist the ball to the stumps.

Dhoni-Ishan connection
Dhoni was born in Ranchi which was a part of Bihar way back in 1981. Ishan was born in Patna which is the capital city of Bihar.
Ishan was forced to play for Jharkhand as Bihar Cricket Association was not a recognized body by the BCCI which got him to share the dressing room alongside MS Dhoni.
Ishan finally got a chance to play alongside Dhoni in the Vijay Hazare trophy of 2017 after getting few tips from him in the Ranji trophy 2016-17 season.
This little time might have helped the youngster become a good batsman and an improved wicket-keeper.
