On the other hand, retired cricketers and experts have allready started donning the prediction hat to pick their favourite contender to lift the world cup.
Now joining the trend is former West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards who said that England, India, Pakistan and Australia are the favourites to win the marquee event.
Richards said that England have always been a great team in world cup but they failed to deliver in the last moment and crucial junctures of the tournament. He further opined that India and Pakistan can defeat any team and termed Australia as a great team.
“England has played well. But always they have fallen short at the last moment. It is a good team always. Pakistan and India are two teams that can defeat anyone. Australia is another great team. So, I think there are 4-5 teams that have the potential to win 2019 World Cup,” Richards said.
Richards further talked about West Indies’ chance and opined that the men from Caribbean have not showed the top form in the recent while and he hopes that the men in maroon will again rise to the top.
“In limited over game, it all depends on how you play on that particular day. If it is a bad day, even a bad team can defeat you. I hope to see the team where it belonged,” Richards said.
