What would be the current team if India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were not divided in 1947

Britishers left the nation but then the partition of India into two countries was the worst thing that can happen that time. Two nations theory was supported by the political leaders and an Islamic country Pakistan emerged. The divide in the nation meant the divide in cricket and hockey teams which were way too solid on a combined basis. Come 1971, the East Pakistan gained independence from West Pakistan and turned into Bangladesh with the help of India.

Many fans across the border have been wondering about the strength of the team, had the two nations not been separated in 1947. Many believe that the team would be world class if the Pakistani bowling line up, the talent from Bangladesh and Indian batting line up would have played together.

On that note, here’s a look at current team if India and Pakistan were not divided in 1947.

Openers- Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan

There is no doubt about the fact that this Delhi-Mumbai pair is the best in the world. Shikhar and Rohit have batted together in 105 matches and scored 4708 runs together, with 16 hundred run partnership and 13 half century partnership that has won India many matches.

Middle order- Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Mushfiqur Rahim(wk)

The middle order looks way too impressive with the likes of Virat, Babar and Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh. Virat has made a habit of playing big innings while Babar is a legend in the making with impressive performances at a time when whole of the Pakistani batting unit is failing to fire. His presence at number four would be the best answer for the much debatable number four slot for India.

Mushfiqur Rahim will be the best suited player at number five, who has the determination to turn a match on its head. He can put value to his wicket and even provide the late flourish when needed.

Lower middle order- Kedar Jadhav and Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya reveals the date of his comeback to Team IndiaThe role for finishing the game is often left to the lower middle order batsman and Kedar Jadhav is mastered the skills with his street smart style of play. Accompanying him is the hard hitting all-rounder, Hardik Pandya who can take down any bowling attack with his fierce strokeplay. He brings the right balance to the team with his all-round play.

Bowlers- Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Amir, Mustafizur Rahman and Kuldeep Yadav

The star studded pace trio would have been unbeatable if Bumrah, Amir and Mustafizur played for the same team. Bumrah is a death overs specialist with abilities to bowl yorker while Amir can be a lethal asset in the 1st powerplay and can trouble the batsman with his raw pace and ability to move the ball both ways. Mustafizur Rahman can be utilized in the middle overs to break the bone of the opposition middle order and check with the run rate as well.

Video: Relive the hattrick of Kuldeep Yadav in the 2nd ODI against West IndiesTo add more devastation to the bowling, the mystery spin of Kuldeep Yadav will be an added advantage for the team. Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav can also chip with some overs.

Bench– Tamim Iqbal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hassan Ali and Rishabh Pant
