There was a wide debate on the selection of Hanuma Vihari who will be making his test debut for India. The Andhra captain is a solid middle order batsman and can also come handy with the bowl. However, his selection was not favoured by some of the cricketer experts and they said that its unjustice with Karun Nair, who is warming the bench from the first test.
Here is what the experts said
If Hanuma Vihari was picked ahead of Karun Nair because the team management thinks he has a better defensive technique, I support the selection. Cricket merit over protocol any day for me.#ENGvsIND

I have no problem seeing Hanuma Vihari play this game. I have an issue seeing Karun Nair left out while Shikhar Dhawan continues to eat up space at the top, doing nothing except ruin any chance of gathering momentum in India’s innings. Rubbish captaincy from Kohli yet again.

By the way I think Karun Nair hard done by: not considered as opener, and loses out middle order place because Vihari reckoned to have some spin bowling ability and fits into team management’s 5-bowler theory https://t.co/Mj5OXwSx8X

Some stat for you
Hanuma Vihari had claimed a wicket off his very first ball in #IPL. He did so for SRH. His victim: RCB’s Chris Gayle on 7 Apr 2013#EngvInd

Wonder how much of a role, did Hanuma’s off-spin play a part in the selection. Irrespective, been in good form and wish him all the very best
