Wisden India Almanack has chosen KL Rahul as the best cricketer

(Bangalore): Wisden India Almanack has chosen KL Rahul as the best cricketer of the year in the sixth edition. Alamanack has also given special attention to Indian women cricketers by publishing the World Cup celebration on the homepage. Virat Kohli was the most successful Indian and International cricketer but this year the focus will be on matches in England and Australia.

Suresh Menon wrote in the editorial, “Kohli is eyeing statistics figures. If they perform well abroad, then cricket historians will also be enriched. “One of the women’s World Cup stars, Deepti Sharma was chosen from the best cricketers of the year. India’s first woman superstar Shanta Rangaswamy was kept in the Wisden ‘Hall of Fame’ with Erapalli Prasanna. Priyank Panchal, Hasan Ali and Tamim Iqbal were also among the best cricketers of the year.

Wisden’s best cricketer KL Rahul, who was sitting on the bench for a long time, was included by captain Rohit Sharma in the final eleven in the 3rd match against Sri Lanka in Nidahas trophy 2018. But Lokesh Rahul lost this opportunity with his own mistake. Rahul, playing in place of failed batsman Rishabh Pant, played an innings of 18 runs in 17 balls. He was looking good in the middle, but got out in an unfortunate manner, a record which no batsman would really enjoy.

At the Premadasa stadium, Rahul got out hit wicket against Sri Lanka. He is the first Indian and the ninth batsman of the world to get out on hit wicket in International T20. South Africa’s AB de Villiers, Sri Lankan Dinesh Chandimal, Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez have been dismissed in the International T20 earlier through most shameful way. Kenya’s batsman David Obuya was the first player in the world to get hit wicket out in international T20 matches. In the first T20 World Cup played in 2007, he was hit wicket out facing New Zealand bowler Mark Gillespie.
