International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women. It is celebrated by almost every other women’s brand reminding a woman to feel empowered, while standing up for the equality and freedom. Woman’s are emerging as leaders in every sector be it politics, media, finance, business and even sports. We at Digitalsporty salute the spirit of 6 lesser known Indian sports women and their inspiring stories on Womens day 2018.

The 28 years old wrestler hailing from Tarantal district in Punjab waived the Indian flag by winning a gold in Asian Wrestling Championship held at Bishhek, Kyrgyztan. She is the only Indian wrestler to achieve the golden feat in the history of 22 years old tournament. His father who is a farmer took loan so that his daughter doesn’t have to part away from the game, whereas his brother left his studies just for the sake of her sister.

She has won 5 International medals which includes 3 medals at Asian level.
