The Proteas lost three games on a trot in the initial stage and their clash against West Indies was washed-off due to rain which didn’t help their cause. They register their first win against Afghanistan but it got too late for them to progress in the knockout stages. They finished with 7 points in nine games.

Sri Lanka was out of the knockout picture until they pip the eventual winner- England in the league stage to announce their resurgence. They could not finish well and finished with 8 points in nine games.
5- Pakistan- Rs 2,05,60,050
The men in green’s campaign started on a disastrous note after they were pipped by West Indies by 7 wickets. They bounced back in style against England after posting 348 runs and won the game by 14 runs. The Sarfaraz Ahmed led side faced two setbacks against Australia and India which almost ousted them from a place in knockout. In a must win situation, they pipped South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and were tied with New Zealand at 11 points.
However, their poor net run rate didn’t help their cause and they were left to content with a 5th spot finish.
