England is a beautiful place to play test cricket with the huge crowds rolling in and applauding good cricket. But England can be a nightmares for the batsman as the pitch and over cast conditions favours the bowlers and it becomes a graveyard for the batsman. When it comes to England, a cricketer thinks of green top, dry or damp wickets but most importantly the English weather which can turn on its head in no time.
There have been instances when a bright sunny day lit up the test match for a batsman but suddenly overcast conditions bring back pacers to the game and the fall of just one wicket can make the wickets fall like a pack of cards. The overcast conditions can bring in rain as well and it can be minutes of passing shower or the downpour even continues for days, disrupting the game.
India will take on Australia in the world test championship finals at Oval from Wednesday and weather will play a huge role in the game. With the curator possibly offering a green top, overcast conditions will become a hunting ground for the pacers and the batsman will be hoping for the bright sunny days so they can have some assistance fighting for the coveted title.
Weather conditions at Kennington Oval for WTC Final 2023
June 7- The opening day of the contest is expected to have a sunny day with cloudy weather coming in the picture at some instances.
June 8 and 9- The next two days will have no chances of rain but the temperature will be a bit colder. Get ready for some “ouch” moments for the batsman and the physio rushing with sprays to take away the pain of as it does hurt in the cold weather.
June 10- The second last day of the test match have minimal chances of rain but it will be a lot windy which will assist the swing bowlers.
June 11- There is 70% chances of rain in the day time but thankfully there is a reserve day which can cover up the game which will be lost due to rain. Unfortunately, the chances of rain on the reserves day is also there. However, English weather is a bit non-predictable and we hope we can have a full 5 days of classic test match.
