The Crown Jewel pay per view will return after one year gap as the 2020 edition was cancelled due to Covid-19 crisis around the globe and in the United States. Its worth mentioning that WWE began a 10-year strategic multiplatform partnership with the General Sports Authority in support of Saudi Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s social and economic reform program.
The first Crown Jewel event was held in 2018 with DX squaring off against Brothers of Destruction in the main event and the 2019 edition was headlined by Seth Rollins taking on The Fiend Bray Wyatt.
The 2021 edition of the pay per view will also be a thunderous one as it has a great match card. The event will mark the return of Brock Lesnar who will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal championship with the twist of Paul Heyman, who is the current advocate of Reigns but has spend his career advocating Lesnar in the past.
Drew McIntyre has been too obsessed with the WWE Championship and he will get another shot at it when he challenges the newly crowned WWE champion Big E. This will be the first event where the New Day member(Big E) will defend his title at a pay per view.
Becky Lynch was a surprise entrant at Summerslam in place of Sasha Banks where she took the SmackDown women’s title from Bianca Belair and WWE build on this rivalry, setting up a triple threat match at Crown Jewel between these three women.
The rivalry of Bobby Lashley with Goldberg has also been hyped by the WWE after the former defeated latter at Wrestlemania. After the match got over, Bobby punched the son of Goldberg after he came from his back to attack him which fueled up the rivalry. The two heavyweights will now square off in a no holds barred match at Crown Jewel and it will set the rivalry ablaze.
Edge had a long standing rivalry with Seth Rollins and both will get to have hands on each other in a classical Hell in a Cell match. Hometown hero Mansoor will also square off against Mustafa Ali as the Crown Jewel crowd will be backing the former one to defeat the latter one.
We will also get to witness Raw tag team championship match between RK Bro-Randy Orton and Riddle squaring off against AJ Styles and Omos. Apart from this, the finals of “Queen’s crown tournament(Zelina Vega vs Doudrop)” and “King of the ring(Finn Balor vs Xavier Woods)” will also be held at Crown Jewel.
