Pro wrestling veteran Rey Mysterio is facing huge setbacks in WWE currently. The three times world champion recently lost to Andrade in a falls count out match after which he looked frustrated and called that he needs to step up as he has a family to feed. It looks likely that the 44-year-old is in the twilight of his career and needs to hang his boots in the coming future.
Meanwhile, with the departure of Mysterio, his son- Dominic can wrestle in WWE from the middle of 2020. The 22-year-old began his training at Lance Storm one year ago at storm wrestling academy in Calgary.
A report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that WWE is hoping to have the 22-year-old Dominic step into the ring as part of his father’s ongoing storyline. However, they feel he’s not ready for his in-ring debut as a wrestler but will get ready till 2020.
Dominic’s first appearance in WWE came way back in 2005 when he was just a 8-year-old. Eddie Gurero claimed that he was Dominic’s father which build the feud between him and Mysterio. This led to a fierce ladder match at Summerslam 2005 and the winner had the parental right over Dominic. Mysterio won the match and claimed his right on his lil one.
Dominic worked with his father during the build-up to this year’s Wrestlemania. Mysterio was having a fierce rivalry with Samoe Joe for WWE United States Championship back then.
