Former Cruiserweight champion Drew Gulak is no more with WWE and his Wikipedia page states that he is a free agent. Gulak is now in the list of alumni’s in the website of WWE. PWInsider reports that Gulak was not released by the company and only his contract was over.
His last match came on the last episode of SmackDown Live on Fox where he competed against his friend Daniel Bryan in the Intercontinental title tournament and ended up on the losing side. WWE and Gulak were trying to come on the same page in terms of a new deal. Since Gulak’s contract expired, he does not have a 90-day non-compete clause and he is free to wrestler anywhere he wants.
Its worth mentioning that Gulak joined WWE in 2016 and made appearances in 205 Live and NXT. As part of the 2019 draft, Gulak was drafted to SmackDown and didn’t made much appearances. It was only when WWE creatives teamed him with Daniel Bryan after both the wrestler gained mutual respect for each other which brought the spotlight on Gulak.
The time will only tell if he will be one of the WWE wrestlers to sign with newly emerged AEW.
