Roman Reigns withdraw from the Universal title match against veteran Goldberg at this year’s Wrestlemania owing to coronavirus outbreak in USA. Its worth mentioning that Reigns was slated to win the Universal title and then show up regularly on SmackDown.
The Big Dog just recovered from blood cancer and he is prone to the deadly virus as he is still lacking the immunity to fight. Now the WWE Universe is desperately waiting for the return of former Universal champion but there is no good news in store for them.
The latest report from Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue state that WWE is going up forward without Reigns in the near future. The management knows that Reigns will not be back anytime soon and the writers have been instructed to write the storylines without indulging him in anyone of those.
“After he chose not to return to the company and compete at WrestleMania, and of course, the weeks advancing, the WWE has since then been creating storylines without factoring him in at all. I have been told and I quote, ‘The WWE is preparing for a future without Roman Reigns,” Tom said.
“This doesn’t mean he is leaving the company. This doesn’t mean he has been released. It just means that for the foreseeable future, the creative team have been told, ‘don’t expect Roman Reigns back’, and as such, they are writing storylines with that in mind. Doesn’t mean they can’t make a sudden change as they have done in the past, but it does mean, at least for a little while, we can expect to not see Roman Reigns on our TV screens,” he added.
The time will only tell if Reigns can return anytime soon but it is likely that he will only make his comeback after the coronavirus stops wrecking havoc in the United States.
