WWE on-screen talent tests positive for coronavirus

The deadly coronavirus has halted the fast moving world and everything seems still with more than half population of the world being in lockdown. There are over 17 lakh + people infected with the virus, which has its origin from the city of Wuhan in China.

The Covid-19 forced everything to be closed including every sporting event around the world. At a time when fans had no entertainment left, WWE came to their rescue as they continued to film their RAW and SmackDown episodes and also went on with the plan to organize Wrestlemania 36 as per schedule.

WWE on screen talent tests positive for coronavirus

While everything seems to be going perfect for WWE, one of their on screen talent is tested positive for coronavirus. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the person is on screen talent but not a member of main roster.

“We believe this matter is low risk to WWE talent and staff, as the individual and a roommate became symptomatic in the days following exposure to two people working in acute health care on the evening of March 26, after WWE’s TV production on a closed set was already complete,” WWE said in a statement.

“The employee had no contact with anyone from WWE since being exposed to those two individuals, is doing well, and made a complete recovery,” the statement added.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheets, the employee went to dinner with his friend after WWE finished its taping and he was quarantined after being tested positive. This means that the infected employee didn’t come in contact with any WWE superstars or other WWE official, which is a big relief for the Vince McMahon led promotion. WWE will continue to film its episodes of RAW and SmackDown from performance center and NXT from Full Sail University, both of which are located in the city of Orlando.
