WWE announced that they released Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of the Revivals with immediate effects, indicating that they do not have a 90-day non-compete clause. They were believed to leave the company once their contract expires.
“Effective today, Friday April 10, 2020, WWE and The Revival have agreed on their immediate release from WWE. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” WWE statement noted.
They have trademark “top guys” which they used for themselves. The four time tag team champions with WWE have also trademarked “Say Yeah” and “No Flips, Just Fists.”
It was reported in February that the company are headed to resign the Revival, luring them with huge money deal that would likely keep them for another period of five years but it didn’t happen. It was also reported that both their contracts were originally expiring in April. While Dawson’s deal is up, Wilder’s deal was extended till mid June owing to the time he lost in injury.
It is now expected that Dawson and Wilder will now sign for All Elite Wrestling(AEW). AEW currently has no tapings scheduled after filming television episodes till mid May. The status of AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd is still uncertain.
