An optimistic Yuzvendra Chahal feels Indian team can still fight back and make a comeback int the gruelling five match test series despite going 2-0 down after the humiliating loss in the second test at Lords. He opinioned that batting in England conditions is tough but anything can happen in a five match series.
Batting is tough in England- Chahal
“The conditions are great for pacers in England, swing is there too. You saw James Anderson reached 550 wickets. Batting is always tough there, but, it’s a five-game series. Even if you lose early matches, you have the opportunity to come back in the final three games,” ESPNcricinfo.com quoted Chahal, as saying.
Chahal who is currently playing for India A against the touring South Africa A team said that he is not thinking about the selection in the Indian test squad for last two test matches and is more focused on the matches he is playing currently for “A” side.
Ill shift my focus to Asia Cup if i don’t get selected in the test squad- Chahal
“Not even thinking about the squads for the last two Tests in England. My experience in England was very good because it was my first tour, but my focus is on this game. If my name doesn’t come, then my mind will be on the Asia Cup. So I’ll shift my focus on that series after this game,” he added.
Chahal has been a regular member in India limited over series since last January. The leggie from Haryana has bagged 45 ODI wickets in 26 matches with an impressive economy of 4.73. He has also featured in 26 T20s and picked 42 wickets.
