The build to the upcoming cricket world cup has allready started with less than four months left for cricket’s biggest extravaganza to begin in England and Wales. All the ten participating teams have allready started finalizing their 15-man squad for the event.
India led by Rohit Sharma is currently plying its trade in ODI series against New Zealand but their middle order stability seems to be the real problem. The inclusion of Hardik Pandya after his controversial comments on the chat show Koffee with Karan, has brought the right balance to the team.
Meanwhile former India fast bowler- Zaheer Khan has donned the predictors hat and announced his 15 man India squad for 2019 world cup.
Zaheer Khan wants four pacers in the team
The 40-years-old opted for Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to be his openers alongside KL Rahul who will be an optional choice in his team. Virat Kohli will take the number three slot followed by Ambati Rayudu or Dinesh Karthik at number four.
Khan feels that the world cup will be a big tournament and the team management should pick a specialist fourth seamer or trust Hardik Pandya for the role.
“The main factor which will up for the debate is basically you want to go with four fast bowlers and Hardik Pandya or you want to take that chance and say okay, Hardik Pandya is our fourth seamer,” Zaheer told Cricbuzz.
“I still feel the four fast bowler option is still important. Considering the fact that World Cup is going to be a long tournament. So you don’t want a bowler to come from outside and right away try to fit in the squad. So when you are picking your squad, you would want to cover all your bases,” he added.
