Mahendra Singh Dhoni has not been in the best of form in the recent times. He was recently booed for the first time in his entire career during 2nd ODI in Lords against England. There has been a wide debate on his batting position in the team and former India pacer Zaheer Khan has a suggestion on his batting position.
Dhoni should bat at 4- Zaheer
“At No. 4, I do feel someone like MS Dhoni needs to give a go ahead because keeping the World Cup in mind, it’s a very crucial position to soak in pressure and play according to the situation,” Zaheer said during Star Sports dugout show.
“So far, the Indian team has been winning matches when they have had a great start, but in situations where they do not have a good start, experience is required to control the situation,” said 39-year-old pacer from Mumbai.
India will take on Pakistan on Wednesday after their clash with Hong Kong on Tuesday.
Khan said KL Rahul will also be brimming in confidence after his impactful 149 run innings against England in the Oval test.
“Rahul will get some confidence from his last test match innings. The brilliant 150 (It was 149 rather) which he scored should give him enough self-assurance.
“He should be the one batting at No. 3 as Rohit (Sharma) and Shikhar (Dhawan) have been extremely consistent batting at one and two and Rahul will be filling in the gap with regards to Kohli,” noted Zaheer
